About Me

Somewhere around September of 2013 I wandered into a fine art photography gallery while traveling in San Francisco.  I was transported to another world by the landscapes portrayed around me in vivid color.  That was my first venture into the purchase of fine art photography.

After a couple more years of collecting a few pieces and following more landscape photographers on social media, I caught the photography bug and purchased my first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera in 2015.  As many a novice I'm sure, I was excited to get out there and have all sorts of great photos.  I mean, now I had a real camera so how hard could it be to get great photos, right?

It has been an exciting journey since, both physically as I have traveled to many places and with camera in tow, mentally as I have sought out the resources to learn first the technical and mechanical side of photography, and emotionally as I have come to realize that the art of landscape photography is less about the gear and more about the passion and patience coupled with early mornings and late nights to be in the right location in the right light and weather.  A well planned and scouted shoot can quickly be sabotaged by a dirty lens or defective memory card and not noticed until back home reviewing images.  And then there are the moments of exhilaration where a scene just develops unplanned and magic happens.  I think it is the random pattern of rewards that makes it so addicting.

Finally, I want to share my passion.  So stay tuned as I begin to reveal my work.

I am working on identifying labs I trust to reproduce my photography at a level I feel will show it off to the best effect.  Currently I am producing individual pieces for sale by request.  Please contact me to discuss how I can help you find what might fit your desires.
